If you follow me on Instagram, you might have noticed more activity recently. I’ve always been a little apprehensive about social media. Instagram was my preferred platform, as it was a visual one, yet felt often like a mishmash of individual images (think of an art book you bought where the artist had just glued a bunch of Polaroid photos in a random sequence). So initially, it did not strike me as particularly exciting—I enjoy when multiple elements come to form a cohesive, understandable, and exciting design. That is why my Instagram posts will use the puzzle design, in that they will comprise blocks that form a whole when viewed in the profile feed. If you don’t know what I mean, go to my profile page and take a look.
And there’s text too. I like to give insight and thoughts on my process and the stories behind the images. Yes, stories. They are at the heart of my art, so I try to spin a tale to go with the visuals whenever I can.
If you like what you see, consider pressing the ‘Follow’ button (at the bottom of this page or at the CONTACT-page) and check out what I’m talking about. Also, if you like a post, give it a ‘like’, but more importantly, make a comment—a thumb/heart/fire-symbols are plenty. A follower’s comment puts the post at the top of the pile, helping an independent artist to get much-needed exposure. And if you have any question, make them in the comment field. I will do my utmost to reply to you promptly. You may also send me longer messages through the CONTACT-page.
So I’m excited about how it will all look. I’m trying to create something new on Instagram. It could be something that will give people…inspiration.
